Christine Weston Chandler, also widely known as Chris Chan, initially became internet famous for her unique dressing sense. For this reason, she faced severe online bullying for years. Chris is mainly known for inventing a character Sonichu that is very popular amongst webcomic fans. In 2016, Chris announced herself to be a transgender woman. She is also autistic and some people describe her as mentally challenged.

Chris Chan Went Viral For Her Odd Dressing Sense

In 2007, after someone anonymously clicked Chris’s pictures while she at a gaming stop, Chris began to be heavily trolled online. Most of the time, she responded to the trolls who in retaliation made it their agenda to collectively bully and demean her.

Chris’s Transition To Trans-Women

Chris documented her change into being a trans-woman via YouTube. In 2017, she also announced her change via Facebook. To confirm this decision, she legally changed her name from Christian to Christine in May 2016. Her transition garnered different reactions from the public. While some claimed that she made this change only to save herself from the constant bullying, others argued that she did this in order to increase her chances of dating more women.

Chandler’s Leaked Conversation Showed Him Admitting To Incest

After Chandler’s phone call was leaked all over the internet, it was alleged that she had sexual contact with her mother. People online tracked Chandler’s movements soon after incest was suspected. Her bullies and trolls leaked personal conversations, and even hacked into her accounts to find proof of the charge alleged. Chandler’s lawyer asked people to not pay attention to the trolls and stated that they were just looking for fame.

This is not Chandler’s first charge. In 2015, Chris was charged with assaulting an employee at a store. A lot of people who despised her also attended the trail to gain more material against her in order to bully Chris. During the trial, one of her trolls began to notice Chris and her mother’s interactions. The rumours also increased after it was revealed that Chris called her mother with various pet names including ‘darling’.

In August 2016, after a news of a mother and son who had incest relations went viral, Chandler commented on the matter and defended the duo. She said that although incest is discouraged, she does not find it to be that opposed to the idea. She further stated that as along as the relation was not abusive or unwanted, there should be no harm in it.

In her Facebook post, Chris even went as far to say that she has had dreams of having sexual relations with her mother however she then added, that is not true in real life.

In July 2021, Chandler admitted to the incest in a leaked conversation. During the phone leak leaked, she provided detailed and explicit details of her sexual relationship with her mother, 79 year old Barbara Chandler. During the conversation, she also revealed another fact that was mostly previously unknown that Barbara has ‘memory issues’. This revelation made people call this entire relation as assault by Chris on her mother.

Although, Chandler can be heard admitting to the charge of incest during the conversation, she never accepted it. In fact, via a tweet, she asked people to ignore whatever they heard calling it ‘gossip’.

Chris Chan Arrested On August, 2021

The police arrested Chandler from Charlottesville. A bystander live-streamed the entire ordeal in which Chandler can be heard saying that it will be okay into the camera.

Although, she identifies as a female, Chris was processed into the system as a male and moved to the Central Virginia Jail where they housed males. During her hearing when Chandler appeared in front of a judge, she shouted that she is internet popular.

Although, the charge against her has a punishment duration of 10 years in jail, Chandler was released in March, 2023. Charges were then dropped after it was suggested that alternative punishment should be given considering Chandler’s autistic condition.

Chris’s Arrest Footage Released

In August, 2024, body cam footage of her arrest was released in which the Chandler can be heard saying that she was involved in a ‘celebrity scandal’ and that people were taking the entire thing out of context.
