Jackson Holliday Follows In His Father’s Footsteps With Impressive Baseball Stats

American Baseball player, Jackson Holliday is a personal favorite of many, a huge credit of which goes to his father, Matt Holliday. Jackson found his love for the game from his father whom he saw playing professionally since he was a kid. Growing up around the people who talk and walk baseball, Jackson inherited the passion for the game.

Jackson’s Father Passed On His Talent And Passion For The Game

Jackson was born on December 4, 2003, and at such a young age, he has garnered so many achievements. Born and raised in Oklahoma, United States, Holliday went to Stillwater High School. His talent for baseball was discovered during his school days and he was then recruited to play for his college, Oklahoma State. His performance in the game was recognized by awarding him the ‘Defensive Player of the Year’. Holliday impressed the public with his skills and natural talent for the game that he was selected to play in the baseball’s under 18 team for USA.

During his college days, Holliday hit 3 home runs followed by 2 home runs in the next game. With his impressive stats, he created a national record and was named ‘Oklahoma Baseball Player of the Year’. He was also awarded a ‘Golden Glove’ award.

Jackson’s fame continued to increase and it eventually led to the Baltimore Orioles offering him a contract of a staggering 8 million dollars, the largest ever offered to a picked student. This paved the way for him to play in several leagues including Single-A Carolina and Aberdeen IronBirds. Holliday’s performance in the Norfolk Tides earned him the ‘Player of the Year’ award in the Minor League.

Holliday’s continuous outstanding performance promoted him to play in the Major Leagues where he made his debut playing for Baltimore Orioles.

Jackson Makes His Father Proud With His Performance

The all-time favorite, Matt Holliday made his name playing for the big leagues. In his career, he earned the title of All-Star seven times creating history. Seeing his father play on-screen since Jackson was a toddler, the root of his love for baseball was sowed in Jackson’s heart.

Jackson is not the first person in his family to follow in his father’s footsteps. His uncle, Josh Holliday is also a big name in the game. In fact, Josh is currently working as the head coach of baseball at Oklahoma State. Moreover, Jackson’s brother, Ethan Holliday also looks up to his father and brother and currently plays baseball at junior level. Ethan dreams of playing where his uncle serves as the head coach: Oklahoma State. Safe to say, the entire family is very passionate about the game.

Jackson’s Marriage to Chloe Cox

After dating for a couple of years, Jackson popped the question to the love of his life, Chloe in December 2022. The couple got married earlier this year in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their loved ones.
