The Star British Anchor of BBC Sentenced to Prison for Exchanging Indecent Pictures of Minors

Capping a huge fall from stardom, the man who was once known as the reputable anchor of BBC was arrested in November 2023 and sentenced to jail for 6 months. The man was sent to Westminster Magistrates’ Court hearing in London.

Serving BBC News for years, the presenter has guided Britain with many events such as the coronation of King Charles in case of Queen Elizabeth’s death.

Their dramatic fall was a big decline in his worth and fame. People have denounced the man for doing such an illegal act.

In July 2023, the Sun reported that Edward received illegal pictures of children on WhatsApp. They acknowledged that he had paid a teenager Alex Williams, £35,000 in exchange for those pictures.

However, the sordid images range between the age of 13-15 years old children. Among those 41 obscene pictures, one picture was of a child aged from 7-9 years old. Nonetheless, the lawyer said that he was sorry for his act.

His act has not only betrayed BBC News but also his fans and the media who trust him for his honesty and grace. The world has criticized him for this act, posting pictures against this once-famous legend

Facing criticism and troubles in their life, Huw Edward’s wife opened up about the mental Illness of his husband. She stated that the family has been through hard times after his husband who has been in prison. She revealed that Huw has been suffering from depression and anxiety issues for years. Huw has been attending the session with his psychiatrist and received hospital care. However, for a few days, Huw Edard’s kids and family have been in the worst position. Huw Edwards’s wife requested the media to provide her and her children privacy and protection in this circumstance.

Huw Edward is Suspended for Two Years

In the hearing on 16 September 2014, the man was given a suspension probation of 2 years, which means that he would not attend the hearing only in case he would not commit that same act again. Due to his mental health issues, the man is suspended for 2 years but will have to attend the sex offender program of rehabilitation.
