Family Reunion? Noel Gallagher Announces The Reunion Of His Band, Oasis With Brother Liam Gallagher
British musician, Noel Gallagher has left fans in awe after announcing the reunion of his former band, Oasis. Gallagher has a massive fan following and has garnered a lot of respect for his skills as a singer and songwriter. With over 1 million followers on Instagram, Noel has made his mark in the social media world too. The news of the reunion of his band comes after several controversies leading to the band’s break-up. Noel has had a few public feuds with his brother and former co-member of the band, Liam Gallagher. Therefore, fans were in shock at the news of them reuniting.
Noel Gallagher’s Family
Born on May 29, 1967, to parents, Tommy and Peggy Gallagher, Noel grew up in Manchester, UK. In his childhood, Noel was labeled as the black sheep of the family by his brother, Liam due to Noel’s introverted nature. Both brothers had a traumatic childhood where they endured their father’s physical abuse for years. In a documentary titled Sonic, Noel revealed that his alcoholic father beat them very often. The mistreatment became so extreme that both brothers dealt with stammers in their early lives because of fear. Fortunately, their parents separated and they went on to live with their mother.

Noel and Liam were notorious during their early childhood for getting in trouble. When he was around 14, Noel committed theft which led to him being on probation for half a year. It was during this time that he discovered his love for music. During his breaks, while working several part-time jobs, Noel squeezed in time to write songs.
In the early 1990s, the Gallagher brothers formed a band with Noel as the solo songwriter. After struggling for a while, Oasis was discovered by the music industry executive, Alan McGee. In 1994, Oasis released its first single titled ‘Supersonic’. The song was a massive hit in the music world and topped the UK charts. After witnessing the triumph, Oasis then released its debut album called ‘Definitely Maybe’ which earned them huge profits.
Noel and Liam had their first public fight after the former left the band without informing anybody. Noel decided to quit which led to their argument. However, they soon resolved their issues and Noel rejoined Oasis.
Oasis made their comeback with the song, ‘Some Might Say’ which created history by being the band’s first number-one single.
Controversies Involving Gallagher
The fame and success of the band began to put immense pressure on Noel. This led to the start of his depressive episodes where he also described having several panic attacks. His medical problems led him to make the firm decision to stop drugs or any other harmful substances he used to take. The public also disapproved of his decision to attend the then-prime minister, Tony Blair’s party as they saw Noel involved in political agendas.

Oasis’s Split
After various successful tours around the world, Oasis ultimately announced their split following a quarrel between the brothers. In 2009, Liam announced his departure from the band via his social media.
Noel Gallagher’s Solo Journey Following The Disbandment Of Oasis
After he quit the band, Noel was to release an album with his name however, it was put aside. Noel then released ‘Chasing Yesterday’ which gained him popularity as a solo singer. He wrote various famous songs including ‘Birth of an Accidental Hipster’.
In 2021, Gallagher released ‘Back the Way We Came’ which was a tremendous success. Another album of his, ‘Council Skies’ broke records for popularity.

In an official statement verified by BBC, the Gallagher brothers confirmed the news and announced the tour dates for their band’s performances. After the news broke, people shared their joy via social media. The reunion’s news created a ruckus online with people unable to contain their excitement.
